Self-directed online training

Event description

This course is a self-paced online learning package that provides you with the basics of what preceptorship is and why it's important - leading to more effective practice that has an impact.

The interactive content will increase your awareness of the difference effective preceptorship can make. It can help you to enhance clinical placements- improving students' attitudes towards people experiencing mental health challenges and increasing the appeal of mental health as a career option.

Progressing through this roughly 25-minute introductory course you will explore the factors that influence a student choosing a career in mental health, differentiate between models of student support and discover the characteristics of being an effective preceptor. You’ll leave with ideas you can apply these to your own practice and prepare for your role as a preceptor.

This course is the requisite part one of a two-part blended package, with the second 'live' part currently in development.
