The APS Institute is pleased to present this webinar with the College of Health Psychologists.

This webinar will provide an overview of the impact of the current COVID-19 pandemic on alcohol and other drug (AOD) use. Observed trends and anecdotal evidence of current substance use from client’s presenting for treatment will be discussed. It will outline the relationship between stress, anxiety, uncertainty, low mood and substance use as a way of coping. The guidelines for safe alcohol consumption will be discussed, as will signs that substances are being consumed in a harmful manner. The webinar will also focus on practical strategies for supporting a client to reflect on their current substance use, reduce substance use or associated harms depending on the client’s goals.
