Description
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has a demonstrated evidence-base across a wide range of mental health conditions affecting young people. This one-day workshop will provide an introduction to common unhelpful thinking patterns experienced by young people seeking care from mental health services, and describe ways that clinicians can work with this population to reduce associated distress.This event will cover:
- describe Mooney & Padesky’s (1990) model integrating biology, thought, mood, and behaviour
- recognise common, unhelpful thinking patterns experienced by young people seeking tertiary mental health care;
- articulate interventions to reduce distress associated with unhelpful thinking patterns common across a number of mental health
