Description
Refugee and asylum seeking experiences tear at the social fabric tying people together. This workshop will explore some of the potential far-reaching impacts of collective trauma for communities in the resettlement context, and potential recovery processes.Practitioners will be introduced to Foundation House’s Trauma Recovery Framework.
This workshop will comprise a panel of speakers, including members from refugee backgrounds.
This event will cover:
- Exploration of concepts such as trans-generational trauma and collective trauma;
- Foundation House’s Trauma Recovery Framework;
- Reflections on the collective impact of trauma from members of diaspora communities; and
- Consideration of ways to facilitate connection and longer-term recovery in communities who have experienced collective trauma.
Eligibility criteria
Pre-requisite
Participants will be expected to have completed either a Foundation House Introductory workshop, or ‘Refugee and Asylum Seeking Experiences’ Online.
The online option is available free as a pre-requisite when you register for this workshop.
