Description
Cognitive behavioural interventions for psychosis have a strong evidence-base, and are recommended in most international treatment guidelines for this population. However, this treatment approach often requires adaptation when working with young people early in the course of psychosis. This two-day workshop will provide participants with an introduction to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles that can be used in working with young people experiencing psychotic disorders.This event will cover:
- describe the rationale and evidence-base for the CBT model in young people experiencing psychosis
- complete a cognitive behavioural case formulation;
- identify strategies for effective psychoeducation
- describe how to work effectively and compassionately with people experiencing hallucinations and delusions
