Description
The two-day workshop provides an introduction to the ADOS-2 as an assessment tool and is a first step in the process for establishing reliability. It uses a mixture of large group lecture, demonstration, and scoring, as well as video demonstration of the ADOS-2. Pre-course work including readings and videos to watch will be emailed prior to the training. This information will be assumed knowledge for the training. In person training includes morning/afternoon tea and lunch.This training does not include the Toddler Module; see Mindful Website for ADOS-2 Toddler Module training dates and information.
This event will cover:
- Case assessments: Preschool, School-Aged and Adolescent
- Taking a neurodevelopmental history
- Formulation of complex cases
- Understanding language and social communication differences and sensory processing differences
- Differential diagnosis and co-occurring mental health conditions
- Guidelines for providing feedback to families and report writing

Eligibility criteria
If you are working in adult mental health, completing both the Adult Autism Introductory online on-demand training and Adult Advanced Autism two-day training will suffice as the pre-requisite for the ADOS-2 Introductory workshop.
