Description
CHAMPS and Space4Us are peer support programs for children and young people who have a parents with mental illness or mental health issues. CHAMPS (Children and Mentally Ill Parents) supports primary school aged children and Space4us supports secondary school aged young people.These groups aim is to give children and parents opportunities to spend time with others who may have had similar experiences to gain support and age-appropriate information about mental health and illness. With a focus on early intervention and prevention the overall aim of these programs is to reduce the likelihood of the development of mental health difficulties in children and young people.
